In 1981 the last brother left. Then in 1982 the group would change their name to what they are now known as 'The Hoppers'. Some things that stayed the same were Connie & Claude. However their drummer & also their oldest son Dean would move upfront as lead. To take over drums they would look at younger Michael.
Through the next few years they hired people to come sing with them. Including for example 'The Talleys'. (Roger, Kirck & Debra). Although people would ultimately come and go. In 1989 the group would gain a new saprano with Kim Greene joining the group. As she & Dean had married in late 1988 this also made her family. In 1996 Mike got married & in 1998 she (Denice) would become 'The Hoppers' new piano player. She would also do some vocals. (At least on one DVD). However she left the group in 2002. Then there was the little addition in 1994. Dean & Kim's oldest daughter Karlye. She has had some small singing parts over the last few years. She has recorded with them in studio & sang live. On their 2011 album 'Somethings Happening' she had her fiorst solo song 'Nobody's Too Good Or Too Bad'. *In 2012 'The Hoppers' were inducted into the GMA Hall Of Fame |
